The threading on a rod end is what determines its classification as either male or female. 

Rod ends with external threading are male configurations while rod ends with internal threading have a female configuration.Female rod end bearings are often used in unique applications due to their ability to fine-tune the placement of components.

Rod ends with external or male body threads. The DSQ Motion product line features over twenty different series of male rod ends in inch, or imperial, dimensions. Products range in bore size from 1/8 to 2 inch, with threads from 6-32 through 2"-12.

Standard catalog series include products with low carbon, high strength heat treated alloy steel, stainless steel, and Aluminum bodies. All feature one-piece, full-swage steel raceway construction with the exception of the SPM/SPW series, which feature a proprietary low friction high wear resistance molded liner. Steel race materials include low carbon, or heat treated alloy or stainless steels. Ball materials include sintered steel, alloy or stainless steel. All balls are precision ground and heat treated. All threads are rolled to appropriate classifications. Many series are available with PTFE lined raceways, for smooth backlash-free fit.
